TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

QUALIFICATIONS:

I am a qualified hypnotherapist, registered with NGH the National Guild of Hypnotherapists. I am a member of BSCAH the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis and also of The Academy of Hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy is a self-regulating profession. I am a retired dentist with years of experience in treating nervous and anxious clients in a kind and caring manner. But … I am not a doctor and may not provide a medical diagnosis nor recommend discontinuance of medically prescribed treatments.

ETHICS

I practice in accordance with the code of ethics and standards of the above-mentioned organisations to which I belong. If you ever have a complaint about my services or behaviour that I cannot resolve with you personally you may contact the following association to seek redress: The National Guild of Hypnotists: PO Box 308, Merrimack NH 03054-0308 USA.

I have studied with BSCAH, with Brian Jacobs of Hypnotic Solutions and with Sharon Waxkirsh's Academy for Hypnosis and have qualified with all three of these trainers. I continue to study with CPD provided by all three of the above and at various other courses and conventions to keep up to date.

THE THERAPY:

Hypnotherapy can help numerous conditions.

Everyone is different and the length of therapy will vary from client to client. I can generally advise approximately how many sessions will be required but this does vary between individuals and the nature of the issue. Please note that the agreement to work with you on the issues you present in no way guarantees a cure but I will do my best to help you in the shortest time possible.



FEES

The fee for an online Zoom session or a home visit to my location is £120/hour

The fee for me to attend at your medical or dental appointment by prior arrangement will depend on location and how far I have to travel, but will be around £200/hour

Compare this to paying for intravenous sedation which is around £300/hour and involves you requiring a driver to take you home and hours of recovery while you feel very disorientated. With hypnosis the recovery is immediate as you come out of trance. You start to recover straight away!

An audio recording customised for the individual client will be provided after the first or second session to reinforce the benefits of the hypnotherapy session. I strongly advise that my clients listen to their individually prepared, unique recording as it reinforces the suggestions and therapy provided during the session.

Payment may be made in cash or by bank transfer.

A 50% deposit is required for new clients, paid in advance by bank transfer.

Behaviour: I will treat all clients courteously and with respect. I expect clients to do the same to me. Any abusive or antisocial behaviour either verbal or physical will not be tolerated and will result in the termination of therapy. For both your protection and mine, sessions will be recorded. Therefore, if on Zoom the meeting will be recorded on line. If face to face a video recording will be made using my recording device. Your privacy will be respected at all times.

CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENTS

I require 24 hours' notice of cancellation, should you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so wastes the appointment time and may result in a cancellation fee at the usual hourly rate.
Please call or text 07932 043 723 to cancel or reschedule. Failure to turn up either in person or on Zoom will incur the full session fee.

CONTROL OF PERSONAL DATA

I comply with the obligations of the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR by keeping personal data up to date, stored safely and when timely I will destroy it securely. I will not collect or retain excessive amounts of data. I will protect personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. I will ensure that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data. Any paper records will be likewise stored safely in a locked and secure file.

Your personal data is used for the following purposes:

  • To contact the clients as necessary in accordance with the services they have requested
  • To maintain our own accounts and records

CONFIDENTIALITY

I will not release any information to anyone without a written authorization from you.

Your data will never be passed to a third party without your express consent, except as provided for by law or where there is good cause to believe that not to disclose would cause danger or serious harm to others.

RETENTION OF RECORDS

Client data will be retained for a minimum period of 7 years in compliance with the professional bodies and my insurers Balens Ltd.

For clients under the age of 18 years, data will be retained until their 25th birthday

YOUR RIGHTS AND YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Unless subject to an exemption under GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which I hold about you
  • The right to request that I correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date
  • The right to request your personal data is erased when it is no longer necessary for me to retain such data
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing.
  • The right to object to the processing of personal information (where applicable)
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office (see below)

COMPLAINTS NOTICE
